Everyone is speculating on who John’s girlfriend is, but as much as I’d like JohnKat to be canon, I think at this point in time he’s speaking hypothetically.

“One day, when I get a girlfriend, I may give her this ring,” as opposed to “I have a girlfriend and I might give this ring to her.”

I could be wrong, but that’s just my two cents on the matter. :F

I would kind of think that to be obvious in context, but the hardcore shippers will ship.
